Co-headlining the Ogden with Sharon Jones, this set from Grace Potter and the Nocturnals started off a bit slow, and really didn’t seem to gain momentum until Only Love.  Folks were still trickling into the theater when GP&N started out the night without any openers, which is partially to blame for the disengaged audience early on.  Nevertheless, the notoriously non-dancing Denver crowd was finally up and moving to the music half-way through the show.

Here are Grace Potter and the Nocturnals opening for Brett Dennen at the Ogden last December.  New band members Catherine Poppper and Benny Yurco fit perfectly, and Catherine lays claim to the best sounding bass tones I have ever heard in a live setting.
